Building with 3D printers has seen rapid development in recent years. A group of architects in Tanzania plans to use 3D printing with earth to build a new village called Hope Village. The village aims to provide housing, education, childcare, and skills training for vulnerable children. The community center in the village will be the landmark building, featuring a 3D-printed design that allows for ventilation and natural light. The walls will be constructed using locally sourced soil with a wire mesh for reinforcement. The roof will be made from locally sourced timber and sheet metal. The project aims to bring technology to the site and involve the community in future construction efforts. Construction is expected to begin in early 2025.
